The Register names the thirty-seven commentaries. This page names the ḥadīth collections they quote from, how large each one is, and how much of it this work actually uses — including the four that were never quoted once.
| collections held | 39 | 7 Sunnī, 32 Shīʿī |
| reports held | 68,921 | across all of them |
| reports cited | 5,538 | 8% of what is held |
| links | 22,188 | one report on one āyah by one commentator |
| āyāt reached | 4,603 | of 6,236 |
Of the 22,188 links, 19,831 (89.4%) are reports from the seven Sunnī collections and 2,357 (10.6%) from the thirty-two Shīʿī ones. That looks like a selection bias. It is worth showing why it is not.
Nothing on the ḥadīth side was ever selected from. A link exists only where a commentator quoted that report in his comment on that āyah, and the citations themselves run 88.7% Sunnī to 11.3% Shīʿī — because that is the balance of the commentary shelf. The two ratios agree to within a point. The imbalance is inherited from the tafsīr corpus, not introduced here, and the honest remedy is more Shīʿī commentary, not more Shīʿī ḥadīth.
4 collections in the corpus are cited by no commentary in it. They are searched on every āyah and simply never matched. Named here rather than left for a reviewer to discover:
| collection | tradition | reports held |
|---|---|---|
| Thawab al Amal wa iqab al Amal Saduq | shia | 1,106 |
| Kitab al Mumin Ahwazi | shia | 201 |
| Sifat al Shia Saduq | shia | 71 |
| Fadail al Shia Saduq | shia | 45 |
Held is the size of the collection in this corpus. Cited is how many of its reports any commentary quotes. Links counts each report once per āyah it is quoted on, so it exceeds cited wherever one report serves several āyāt.

Every report on these pages carries one sentence and no other: a named commentator quotes this report in his comment on this āyah. That was proved by re-deriving a run of twelve consecutive words from both the ḥadīth text and that commentator’s own commentary cell, in the files as they stand today — not trusted from the index that first found it.
Nothing anywhere claims the report explains the āyah. Nobody can verify that, so it is not written. Gradings are shown where the corpus records one and the collection is not among those that record none; where none exists the page says so rather than rendering silence as ‘ungraded’.
