Every work below is named with the route by which it can actually be obtained, so this page is a commitment a reader can hold the project to rather than an apology. Why not simply take them. Seventy-eight works across 6,236 āyāt is roughly 486,000 requests against a charity’s server. Whatever the terms permit, that is abusive, and a work meant as a gift does not begin by taking without asking. Ṣūfī, Zaydī and Ibāḍī works are all on altafsir.com, under its own category menu. Fifteen works between them. They are the first thing the letter will ask for, because no count of Sunnī commentaries fixes a tradition being absent altogether. This project holds commentary in three languages: Arabic, English and Urdu. QUL alone publishes tafsīr editions in roughly thirty-three. A caution on that count. QUL’s own language tags contain near-duplicates — Sinhala and Sinhalese, Uighur and Uyghur — so the exact number of distinct languages is uncertain between about thirty-three and forty-two. And this is where the work is actually worth something. A twenty-volume tafsīr will never be translated into Fulah or Khmer or Telugu. One plain paragraph per āyah can be. The libraries that hold more books than this project ever will are, for that reason, harder to carry into a new language, not easier.
