It has been narrated on the authority of Ibn Abbas who learnt the tradition personally from Abu Safyan. The latter said:I went out (on a mercantile venture) during the period (of truce) between me and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). While I was in Syria, the letter of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was handed over to Hiraql (Ceasar), the Emperor of Rome (who was on a visit to Jerusalem at that time). حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ يَذْبَحُ أُضْحِيَّتَهُ بِيَدِهِ وَاضِعًا قَدَمَهُ عَلَى صِفَاحِهَا .
It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:“I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) slaughter his sacrifice with his own hand, placing his foot on its side.”
انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو اپنی قربانی اپنے ہاتھ سے ذبح کرتے ہوئے دیکھا آپ اپنا پاؤں اس کے پٹھے پر رکھے ہوئے تھے ۱؎۔

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ أَلاَ أُحَدِّثُكُمْ حَدِيثًا سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ، رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ لاَ يُحَدِّثُكُمْ بِهِ أَحَدٌ بَعْدِي سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْهُ " إِنَّ مِنْ أَشْرَاطِ السَّاعَةِ أَنْ يُرْفَعَ الْعِلْمُ وَيَظْهَرَ الْجَهْلُ وَيَفْشُوَ الزِّنَا وَيُشْرَبَ الْخَمْرُ وَيَذْهَبَ الرِّجَالُ وَيَبْقَى النِّسَاءُ حَتَّى يَكُونَ لِخَمْسِينَ امْرَأَةً قَيِّمٌ وَاحِدٌ " .
It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:“Shall I not tell you a Hadith that I heard from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), which no one will tell you after me? I heard it from him (saying): ‘Among the portents of the Hour are that knowledge will be taken away and ignorance will prevail, illegal sex will become widespread and wine will be drunk, and men will disappear and women will be left, until there is one man in charge of fifty women.”
انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ کیا میں تم سے وہ حدیث نہ بیان کروں جو میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنی ہے، اور میرے بعد تم سے وہ حدیث کوئی بیان کرنے والا نہیں ہو گا، میں نے اسے آپ ہی سے سنا ہے کہ قیامت کی نشانیاں یہ ہیں کہ علم اٹھ جائے گا، جہالت پھیل جائے گی، زنا عام ہو جائے گا، شراب پی جانے لگے گی، مرد کم ہو جائیں گے، عورتیں زیادہ ہوں گی حتیٰ کہ پچاس عورتوں کا «قيم» ( سر پرست و کفیل ) ایک مرد ہو گا ۱؎۔

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم لأُبَىِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ " إِنَّ اللَّهَ أَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَقْرَأَ عَلَيْكَ : ( لَمْ يَكُنِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا ) " . قَالَ وَسَمَّانِي قَالَ " نَعَمْ " . فَبَكَى . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ . وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنْ أُبَىِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ قَالَ قَالَ لِيَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ .
Narrated Anas bin Malik:that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to Ubayy bin Ka'b: "Indeed Allah ordered me to recite to you: Those who disbelieve were not going to... (98:1) He said: "And He named me?" He said: "Yes." So he wept
انس بن مالک رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ابی بن کعب رضی الله عنہ سے فرمایا: ”اللہ نے مجھے حکم دیا ہے کہ میں تمہیں «لم يكن الذين كفروا» ۱؎ پڑھ کر سناؤں، انہوں نے عرض کیا: کیا اس نے میرا نام لیا ہے، آپ نے فرمایا: ”ہاں ( یہ سن کر ) وہ رو پڑے“ ۲؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- ابی بن کعب رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے، وہ کہتے ہیں: نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مجھ سے فرمایا: ”پھر انہوں نے اسی طرح کی حدیث ذکر کی“۔

Narrated Ubayy bin Ka'b:that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to him: "Indeed Allah has ordered me to recite the Qur'an to you." So he recited to him: "Those who disbelieved were not going to... (98:1) and he recited in it: "Indeed the religion with Allah is that which is Hanafiyyah, Muslim, not Judaism, nor Christianity, nor Zoroastrian, whoever does good then it shall not be rejected from him." And he recited to him: "If the son of Adam had a valley of wealth he would seek a second, and if he had a second he would seek a third, and nothing fills the belly of the son of Adam except dirt. حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، وَابْنُ، بَشَّارٍ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ أَلاَ أُحَدِّثُكُمْ حَدِيثًا سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ، رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم لاَ يُحَدِّثُكُمْ أَحَدٌ بَعْدِي سَمِعَهُ مِنْهُ " إِنَّ مِنْ أَشْرَاطِ السَّاعَةِ أَنْ يُرْفَعَ الْعِلْمُ وَيَظْهَرَ الْجَهْلُ وَيَفْشُوَ الزِّنَا وَيُشْرَبَ الْخَمْرُ وَيَذْهَبَ الرِّجَالُ وَتَبْقَى النِّسَاءُ حَتَّى يَكُونَ لِخَمْسِينَ امْرَأَةً قَيِّمٌ وَاحِدٌ " .
Qatida reported that Anas b. Malik said:May I not narrate to you a hadith which I heard from Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) which no one would narrate to you after me who would have personally heard it from him (the Holy Prophet) (as I have the good fortune to do so)? -" It is from the signs of the Last Hour that knowledge would be taken away, ignorance would prevail upon (the world), adultery would become common, wine would be drunk, the number of men will fall short and the women would survive (and thus such a disparity would arise in the number of men and women) that there would be one man to look after fifty women
شعبہ نے کہا : میں نے قتادہ کو حضرت انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ سے حدیث بیان کرتے ہوئے سنا ، انہوں نے کہا : کیا میں تمہیں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنی ہوئی ایک حدیث بیان نہ کروں؟ یہ حدیث میرے بعد تم کو کوئی ایسا شخص نہیں بیان کرے گا جس نے وہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے ( براہ راست ) سنی ہو : " قیامت کی نشانیوں میں سے ہے کہ علم اٹھ جائے گا ، جہالت نمایاں ہو جائے گی ، زنا پھیل جائے گا ، شراب پی جانے لگی گی ، مرد رخصت ہو جائیں گے اور عورتیں باقی رہ جائیں گی یہاں تک کہ پچاس عورتوں کے معاملات کا نگران ایک رہ جائے گا ۔
